1. What’s something people might ask you for help with?
Anything related to computers. Once people know you know how to fix computers – LOOK OUT!

2. What’s something you might ask someone else for help with?
Whatever might come up that I cannot do on my own.

3. Did your family take summer vacations when you were a child? If so, where did you go? If you’re a parent, did/do you plan summer vacations with your own family? Did/do they resemble those you took as a child?
We always went to my great grandfather, grandfather and uncle’s as they lived in Florida for our vacations every summer.

4. Pool-lake-ocean…which one is most appealing to you on a hot summer day?
P O O L. You get the water and the sun without all the sand up your crack.

5. Have you ever justified using the expression, ‘you gotta be cruel to be kind’? Was it really necessary or were you rationalizing?
Never used it although I have heard of it.

6. The Journal of Psychology recently mentioned the results of a survey identifying the ten most hated foods as-liver, lima beans, mayonnaise, mushrooms, eggs, okra, beets, brussel sprouts, tuna, and gelatin. Of those foods, how many do you actually hate? Anything you’d add to the list?
That’s a very odd list because I eat everything on it except for liver. You will not EVER get me to try liver. I’m not crazy about okra or beets but I’ll eat them if served. Gelatin is in jello so what’s not to like? It’s flavorless. I don’t eat shrimp or scallops. Hows that?

7. What’s your favorite book or movie set in a beach or lake town?
Hmm, I do love the Lake House movie. I always find the dynamics of it all intriguing.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I don’t know if I’m coming or going these past few weeks. I’m amazed I get to my classes on the proper dates because I could’ve sworn today was Thursday. You ever get confused like that?

1. What question do you often ask yourself?
“Why am I doing this?” That pretty much goes for anything I’m doing.

2. Do you grow roses? What’s your favorite color of rose? Ever been given a dozen roses? Where was the prettiest rose or rose garden you remember seeing?
I do not grow roses. My mother used to grow them at the house we grew up in though. She managed to mix red, orange, and white. They were pretty. I like the yellow roses. I have been given a dozen roses before by an exboyfriend. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a rose garden.

3. Do you read the freshness dates on grocery store products? Will you use eggs past their ‘use by’ date? Take medication that’s expired? Buy a dented can?
I do read the freshness dates on products. I do use my eggs waaay past the post date. It is just a suggestion for eggs. You can use them up to 5 weeks after the date. I’ve bought dented cans before. I don’t see the issue in it so long as it is still sealed tight. I’ve not used medication past the expiration date because the chemicals break down and are not active anymore.

4. Should athletes be role models?
Yes and no. In honesty, I don’t see why they should except for the fact that kids put them up on pedestals which in turn makes them role models.

5. Edmund Hillary of New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay of Nepal became the first explorers to reach the top of Mt. Everest on this date (May 29) back in 1953. What’s something you hope to achieve in your lifetime?
At this point I hope to find a job that I love in the computer field with a pay to commensurate the work I am doing. I’d like to be able to only have to work one job.

6. What would you do if you had twenty acres of land and the money to develop it any way you choose?
Townhomes/apartments. There is is HUGE money in that. I’d reserve about 4 acres for myself though to place my own house and yard on it.

7. If I invite you to a party with a 7 PM start time, what time will I actually see you there?
I’m punctual on everything I do but parties are a whole other animal. I don’t like to be early or on time if I’m not helping because that somehow seems needy to me.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Right now I’m having to uninstall/reinstall display drivers for my NVIDIA card due to a lab that I had to install certain software. I haven’t even really started and this has totally pissed me off. My laptop locked up while I was in the lab and had to do a hard reboot and it effed up my display settings. The lab has to be in 1024×700 mode to be done. And now my display shows mobile pc instead of my NVIDIA and I have no option to change that. I’ve already contacted their sad state of support and have already been escalated :/

1. It’s National Bike Week…do you own a bicycle? When did you last ride a bike?
No I do not own a bike. I’m afraid I’d fall of the thing at this point. I ride a stationary bike about 4 times a week while in spinning class 🙂

2. What’s something you learned in school that wasn’t part of the curriculum?
That could be just about anything. You hone your social skills while in school for sure.

3. What’s a food you’ve never tried, but want to try? What’s a food you’ve tried and will never try again?
I can cross buffalo burgers off my list but I’d like to try a few more gamey (is that a word?) wild meats as burgers only. I won’t eat steak. I refuse to eat shrimp ever again. I have had it may times and I just can’t get past the texture.

4. Have you been more demanding on yourself lately or less? Why? Do you think that’s a good trend?
I think my time has been more demanding with the 3 jobs I’ve got going on. It’s not a good trend because there are only so many hours in a day to do stuff.

5. Who is your favorite book, movie, or TV show villain?
Villian? I dunno, does Dom from the Fast and the Furious movie series count? I like the Dalek’s from Doctor Who.

6. How concerned are you about identity theft?
For myself not so much. My credit is trashed from an ex brother in law who repoed a boat I helped him buy. So if they want to try to steal my identity go for it.

7. I saw this last question on Dawn’s blog a couple of week’s ago and asked if I could share. Everybody hop over and say hi, but first answer this…would you rather have an ordinary home in an extraordinary place or an extraordinary home in an ordinary place?
What’s extraordinary though? I’d have to have the definitions of each of those things first to make my decision and the exact places because I sure as shit wouldn’t want to be sent to Antarctica.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I went for another job interview today for the navy base. I’d have to have security clearance. I’m not sure how that will pan out due to my credit history, or lack there of because there isn’t much going on with it. How many job interviews did it take you to find that one job you stayed at for many years?

1. May is National Blood Pressure Month…what sends yours soaring, either literally or figuratively? What calms you down? When did you last have your bp checked?
My blood pressure is usually always low. I might hit the norm which is 120/80 if I’m running around doing stuff but most normally like 90/50 or there abouts. What sends it soaring is stress at work and just chilling at the house can bring it down.

2. You just found $1-what do you spend it on? How about 10$ 100?
Bills at this point lol I’m working 3 jobs and still don’t have enough money just to live. I have no credit cards or car payment so you’d think it’d be doable. I’ve applied for a job just on Saturday at a car dealership which is 10 hours every Saturday. *crosses fingers* here’s hoping that pans out.

3. Mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) food has been proposed, but not enacted in the US. How much attention do you give food labels before you buy? Are you in favor of labeling if it means an increase in food prices? Is this an issue you’ve been following and feel strongly about, or is this the first you’ve heard of the controversy?
I admit I don’t really look at labels. I just buy what I want.

4. May 15th marks the birthdate of Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz. At this point in time, are you more in need of brains, courage, heart, or a trip back home? Explain.
I think courage. I need the courage to find a good job even if it is not in this state and move.

5. “There’s no place like home” is an oft repeated line from Baum’s book. When was the last time you felt the truth of that statement?
Every summer when I take the kids to kidney camp for the week out in the mountains. I sooo am ready to go home and just sleep for a day or two.

6. Steak…yes please or no thank you? What cut do you prefer and how do you like yours cooked? Sauce or no sauce? Besides your own kitchen, where’s a place you like to go to get a great steak?
No thanks. I was put off from steak as a child when I was forced to eat it and the fat that came with it. I couldn’t leave the table one time until I ate everything on it. So I shove the meat and fat in and then puked it back up. 😕

7. When was the last time you were in a genuine hurry?
I seem to also be in a hurry lately going from one job to the next in the same day or getting to classes on time when they are in session.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Do you DVR your shows to watch now just so you can fast forward through the commercials? I do on most shows now that I have this thing.

1. Do you play games of luck/chance for money? Have you ever played bingo for money? Visited a casino? Placed a bet on a horse? Bought a lottery ticket?
Yes, no, yes, no, yes. So, it seems pretty mixed. Have I money I’d be buying lottery tickets galore since the pot is up to $180 million. Just played some poker this past weekend. I almost won. I came in second place. I’d love to go back to Vegas and play blackjack but I can’t guarantee that I’d make it outside the hotel any faster than last time I went. It took me 3 days to step foot outside the hotel due to the gambling I was doing lol.

2. Will you be preparing and/or dining on the traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage meal this St. Patrick’s Day? Mashed-baked-hash browned-french fried…your favorite way to have potatoes?
No corned beef or cabbage. I won’t eat either. However, I’ll have some fries please if you don’t mind.

3. What’s the last thing you felt ‘green with envy’ over?
The pure bliss kids have about everything when they are young.

4. What’s at the end of your rainbow?
Hopefully a new job since I’ve been applying everywhere known to man, even places I’d rather not drive due to the distance.

5. March 12th marks the anniversary of the death of Anne Frank (June 12, 1929-March, 1945). Anne’s diary detailing her time spent hiding from the Nazi’s during the war ranks as one of the best selling books of all time. Besides your blog, do you keep any sort of diary or journal? Was this a habit you developed as a child or is journaling something new for you?
Never kept a journal. I keep saying I will but I don’t and most likely won’t. The blogs enough to keep my thoughts written down as well as Twitter (which by the way you can get physical copies in a booklet now).

6. What’s an item in your home or closet that contains every color of the rainbow?
I have no such thing in my place. Everythings mainly a solid color or two colors.

7. Write a limerick with you as the subject. You can do it!! Just remember this is a family friendly blog…don’t make me get out my wooden spoon.
I have no idea how to do this much less some up with a topic to do this for.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
The pollens already here as well as the flowers. poor plants have no idea what season it is but its aggravating my allergies bad.

1. My real life friends came through with another question this week so thank you real life friends. When you’ve eaten in a restaurant do you complete their comment card? Do you take online surveys highlighted at the bottom of store receipts?
I sometimes take the time to take the online surveys but most of the time not. I actually did fill out a comment card yesterday in the new cafeteria at the college that was giving away free food as a test run to see how things went during a lunch rush.

2. The (US) ban on women in combat was lifted at the end of January. It will probably be next year before specifics are worked out, but its been reported over 200,000 front line positions will eventually open up to women. Your thoughts?
About time. I don’t see why organizations continually hold back women for certain jobs if they are capable of doing them.

3. In looking back at all the blog posts you’ve written, what’s your favorite post title?
I Quit! Most definitely the favorite not of the title itself but the fact that I quit my job last year lol. A job that I was continually despising as days went on.

4. What’s worse-overly permissive parents or overly protective parents? Did your own parents lean more to the permissive or the protective category? If you’re a parent where do you fall?
How about overly critical? And they still are critical of everything that I do or don’t do, have done or have yet to do whether it has to do with you or not. This is why I don’t speak to anybody in my family.

5. Candlelight-moonlight-firelight-bright lights in the big city…which one’s your favorite?
I love firelight but alas I have no fireplace. The bonus side effect is that it warms you up.

6. Dr. Seuss’s birthday was celebrated on Saturday. What’s a favorite book you remember (Seuss or otherwise) from your own childhood? Did books play an important role in your growing up years? Explain.
The only book I remember ever is Green Eggs and Ham. I couldn’t tell you what any of the other books he had written.

7. To quote Dr. Seuss…

“From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere.”
from One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

Share something funny you’ve recently read, seen or heard.
It was something on one of last nights TV shows but for the life of me I can’t remember what it was now.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Technology is irking me as of late. Things aren’t working properly. I just wish it all worked fine and dandy with no extra intervention.
