1. Labor Day weekend (in the US of A) is approaching…what’s something you’ve labored over this year?
All my school work and trying to find a full time job which I have found now. I am just waiting for security clearance.

2. What is one word to describe your ‘job’ or career?
Computers. You name it I can attempt to do it lol

3. What was your worst or least favorite job ever? Why?
I’m not sure I had a least favorite. However, there were some situations in my last position that I despised with a passion.

4. How do you measure contentment?
When you don’t have to say anything to your significant other. It is just knowing that you can just be. Makes more sense in my head.

5. Pickles-like or dislike? What is something you eat that requires a pickle? Dill, bread and butter, sweet gherkins…what’s your favorite kind of pickle?
Love pickles. I like the small ones and they MUST be crisp. Never had the flavored pickles like the garlic ones but I may give those a go.

6. In your current house-town-state, what is it you like living close to?
The movie theatre. I love going to movies. I actually don’t have to leave my city because I pretty much have everything here I need except for my job.

7. What is one thing on your ‘want-to-do’ list before summer draws to an official close?
I’d like to get away and get some sun but that’s not going to happen for multiple reasons.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I think I’m going to go crazy before this semester ends and it has only been in session now for 3 days. I have 3 classes with TONS of homework, a national certification I need to study for and take before the end of September, and a new job I will need to learn what duties I am to perform IF my security clearance goes through *crosses fingers*

1. What’s something people might ask you for help with?
Anything related to computers. Once people know you know how to fix computers – LOOK OUT!

2. What’s something you might ask someone else for help with?
Whatever might come up that I cannot do on my own.

3. Did your family take summer vacations when you were a child? If so, where did you go? If you’re a parent, did/do you plan summer vacations with your own family? Did/do they resemble those you took as a child?
We always went to my great grandfather, grandfather and uncle’s as they lived in Florida for our vacations every summer.

4. Pool-lake-ocean…which one is most appealing to you on a hot summer day?
P O O L. You get the water and the sun without all the sand up your crack.

5. Have you ever justified using the expression, ‘you gotta be cruel to be kind’? Was it really necessary or were you rationalizing?
Never used it although I have heard of it.

6. The Journal of Psychology recently mentioned the results of a survey identifying the ten most hated foods as-liver, lima beans, mayonnaise, mushrooms, eggs, okra, beets, brussel sprouts, tuna, and gelatin. Of those foods, how many do you actually hate? Anything you’d add to the list?
That’s a very odd list because I eat everything on it except for liver. You will not EVER get me to try liver. I’m not crazy about okra or beets but I’ll eat them if served. Gelatin is in jello so what’s not to like? It’s flavorless. I don’t eat shrimp or scallops. Hows that?

7. What’s your favorite book or movie set in a beach or lake town?
Hmm, I do love the Lake House movie. I always find the dynamics of it all intriguing.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I don’t know if I’m coming or going these past few weeks. I’m amazed I get to my classes on the proper dates because I could’ve sworn today was Thursday. You ever get confused like that?

She’s Lost It

Saturday, June 29th, 2013 | General with Comments Off on She’s Lost It

dogs I’m mowing the lawns, after I finally get some sleep before it gets too hot upstairs, and the owner stops me to ask which bedroom I want to lock the dogs in upstairs while a completely new a/c unit gets installed in my place. There is NO a/c of any kind upstairs. The guys have to replace a piece that is also in my attic. To do all of this they will have to cut the power which will cut the window unit that is going downstairs off. She’s completely gone off the reservation on this one. I told her that that CANNOT happen because there is no air up there and that the dogs will go into heat stroke if she does that.

Then she asks, well do you have leashes for them and I could tie them up in the backyard in the shade? Again, she’s lost it. The dogs would not be able to move AT ALL on leashes tied to anything. WHAT THE EFF?!?

Then she proceeds to tell me that it will be $4000 to replace the a/c unit instead of the $1500 that was quoted to her before as they thought it would just be the outside piece that needs replacing. Since they found the leak in the attic piece the entire thing needs to be redone because it’s soo effin old.

She hasn’t mentioned to me how much she wants to raise the rent again this time but I’m already looking to move some place else because this is just insane. Me moving will hurt her to because she’ll actually have to redo the carpet in the entire place and should do the kitchen tiles too but probably wouldn’t. The carpet has not been replaced in the 14+ years I have lived here. It does not even stay tacked down in front of the door and stairway because of the traffic. The electrical outlets in both of the bathrooms do not work and she has been told the only way to fix that is to rewire the entire place, which she is not willing to do either. Then, in the utility room, which is outside the main place, looks like shit because they busted down the wall on my side to fix a leak in the wall from her water heater. They just put some plywood up instead of sheetrock and didn’t seal it very well.

Weekly Update

Friday, June 7th, 2013 | General with 1 Comment

daycampSorry I haven’t been able to do the weekly meme. I have been slammed with 2 weeks of homework that I have to do in one week due to me taking the kids to kidney camp again this year. This happens every summer but for some reason I have an exceptional amount of homework in these 3 classes I’m taking. I’ve got most of it done but still have 3 baby quizzes, one cumulative exam, and a lab to do. The lab is easy peasy as you just follow the instructions and take screenshots which is the most time consuming. The quizzes are another matter all together. I already took one and it was 15 questions in 15 minutes. I mean WTF? One minute for each question? Holy shit. I still have to finish reading the chapters. Not sure how much I’m going to retain though.

I didn’t have to go to work today as the college closed all campuses for employees and students as of last night due to Tropical Storm Andrea. Nothing happened except rain people. Sure, some people lost power but nothing drastic like they always make things out to be. I slept in since I’m dead tired. Of course slept in meant around 8 AM oddly enough. I was up until 2 AM doing one lab last night. I’m always dead tired when I get back from camp too so it will be interesting to how well I function to do some other homework/quiz stuff I’m going to let wait until I get back because I just can’t cram it all in. I always let the instructors know about camp just in case I can’t seem to get it all done or I just become to fried to understand anything which is happening now. I may email the instructor about the cumulative exam and see if I can’t postpone that one because I’m not sure if I can do well on it at this point.

Yep, this is an exact copy so if you’ve read it once you don’t have to read it again lol

1. It’s National Bike Week…do you own a bicycle? When did you last ride a bike?
No I do not own a bike. I’m afraid I’d fall of the thing at this point. I ride a stationary bike about 4 times a week while in spinning class 🙂

2. What’s something you learned in school that wasn’t part of the curriculum?
That could be just about anything. You hone your social skills while in school for sure.

3. What’s a food you’ve never tried, but want to try? What’s a food you’ve tried and will never try again?
I can cross buffalo burgers off my list but I’d like to try a few more gamey (is that a word?) wild meats as burgers only. I won’t eat steak. I refuse to eat shrimp ever again. I have had it may times and I just can’t get past the texture.

4. Have you been more demanding on yourself lately or less? Why? Do you think that’s a good trend?
I think my time has been more demanding with the 3 jobs I’ve got going on. It’s not a good trend because there are only so many hours in a day to do stuff.

5. Who is your favorite book, movie, or TV show villain?
Villian? I dunno, does Dom from the Fast and the Furious movie series count? I like the Dalek’s from Doctor Who.

6. How concerned are you about identity theft?
For myself not so much. My credit is trashed from an ex brother in law who repoed a boat I helped him buy. So if they want to try to steal my identity go for it.

7. I saw this last question on Dawn’s blog a couple of week’s ago and asked if I could share. Everybody hop over and say hi, but first answer this…would you rather have an ordinary home in an extraordinary place or an extraordinary home in an ordinary place?
What’s extraordinary though? I’d have to have the definitions of each of those things first to make my decision and the exact places because I sure as shit wouldn’t want to be sent to Antarctica.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
I went for another job interview today for the navy base. I’d have to have security clearance. I’m not sure how that will pan out due to my credit history, or lack there of because there isn’t much going on with it. How many job interviews did it take you to find that one job you stayed at for many years?

1. May is National Blood Pressure Month…what sends yours soaring, either literally or figuratively? What calms you down? When did you last have your bp checked?
My blood pressure is usually always low. I might hit the norm which is 120/80 if I’m running around doing stuff but most normally like 90/50 or there abouts. What sends it soaring is stress at work and just chilling at the house can bring it down.

2. You just found $1-what do you spend it on? How about 10$ 100?
Bills at this point lol I’m working 3 jobs and still don’t have enough money just to live. I have no credit cards or car payment so you’d think it’d be doable. I’ve applied for a job just on Saturday at a car dealership which is 10 hours every Saturday. *crosses fingers* here’s hoping that pans out.

3. Mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) food has been proposed, but not enacted in the US. How much attention do you give food labels before you buy? Are you in favor of labeling if it means an increase in food prices? Is this an issue you’ve been following and feel strongly about, or is this the first you’ve heard of the controversy?
I admit I don’t really look at labels. I just buy what I want.

4. May 15th marks the birthdate of Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz. At this point in time, are you more in need of brains, courage, heart, or a trip back home? Explain.
I think courage. I need the courage to find a good job even if it is not in this state and move.

5. “There’s no place like home” is an oft repeated line from Baum’s book. When was the last time you felt the truth of that statement?
Every summer when I take the kids to kidney camp for the week out in the mountains. I sooo am ready to go home and just sleep for a day or two.

6. Steak…yes please or no thank you? What cut do you prefer and how do you like yours cooked? Sauce or no sauce? Besides your own kitchen, where’s a place you like to go to get a great steak?
No thanks. I was put off from steak as a child when I was forced to eat it and the fat that came with it. I couldn’t leave the table one time until I ate everything on it. So I shove the meat and fat in and then puked it back up. 😕

7. When was the last time you were in a genuine hurry?
I seem to also be in a hurry lately going from one job to the next in the same day or getting to classes on time when they are in session.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Do you DVR your shows to watch now just so you can fast forward through the commercials? I do on most shows now that I have this thing.
